Had a great experience here at the Red Iguana 2 restaurant… All dishes me and the rest of my group ordered looked and tasted great! Notable mentions include the nachos, chips/salsa, enchiladas verde, zango cheesecake, and fried ice cream. I came here at 3:30pm on a Monday, so my group of 7 had no problems getting seated. But if you are visiting during a more busy time of day, be sure to place a reservation.

One of the most hyped up places in the SLC area, and for good reason! They offer a satisfying variety of quality dishes. They have many different types of mole sauces, all of which are amazing! The great: main dishes, drinks, and salsa. The oaxaquena margarita was absolutely fabulous; if you're like me and love smoky liquors, this won't disappoint! The mango enchiladas were great, though the mole sauce on that one is quite sweet (the raisins dominate everything). And the salsa they bring out to you with the starting tortilla chips has a lot of character to it. The not so great: sides and deserts. The standard sides, beans and rice, are OK; I would recommend getting a side salad for more contrast / something fresher. The flan was also a disappointment; the caramel wasn't really caramelized and overall it didn't have the depth and richness I want out of a normal flan. I would not get the flan again. I came in on a Sunday evening, around 5:30ish, and had no wait to get a seat at the bar as a solo diner. The party of 4 ahead of me were given a 25 minute wait. The environment was much more casual than I thought it was going to be, based on the hype. It's definitely the type of place where you can wear a t-shirt and bring kiddos without feeling out of place.

This place is a must!!! The enchiladas suizas were the best I've ever had. The sauce was delicious with so many layers of flavor combinations. Chocolaty. Fruity. It came with a side of really good rice and beans. They start you off with chips and salsa (which seemed unlimited - I had 2 bowls). Chips were light and crisp, salsa fresh and flavorful. Margaritas were excellent - make sure to get the custom with mezcal, so good! For dessert arroz con Leche to go which I enjoyed. Maggie my server could not have been better or kinder. She was always checking in on me. Vibe is very causal but you're here for the food. Reservations were hard to come by online, but it seemed like they held a lot of tables for walk ins. This location is very big compared to the original, which is smaller. I sat at the bar near the kitchen and go to watch them making food, and see all the delicious dishes coming out. Must return!

Red Iguana 2 never disappoints! The food is delicious, especially their mole. We actually sampled all of their moles before ordering. We also ordered the fresh guacamole. Highly recommended. This restaurant emphasizes gluten free options which was a plus for us. We’ll be back.

Killer food and great service. The Huevos Motuleños is an absolute standout, the Carnitas were incredibly tender, and the fish tacos were light, fresh, and delicious. Definitely a local gem. Highly recommend.
