Just landed in Salt Lake City from Minnesota and went straight to this Himalayan spot — no regrets at all! The chicken lunch special was amazing… full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and comforting after a long flight. The place feels cozy with friendly service that makes you feel at home. Honestly, it was the perfect first meal in Utah. Highly recommend if you’re craving something authentic and satisfying! Definitely try the Thali set and the momo 🥟

Of the various Indian/Himalayan/Tibetan restaurants in SLC, we’ve narrowed on Himalayan Kitchen as our go to for dinner delivery. We consistently order once or so a month, usually a couple of veggie dishes and a chicken dish. Their saag is good (usually bright green); I always order the aloo gobi (I ask them to go heavy on the potatoes, which are big chunks). The tandoori chicken is also good. I usually order the food as hot as possible. I’d take it hotter, but it’s not bad as far as actual spicy things go. You can tell me there’s better food elsewhere, but I’ve tried most of it and this is where I keep coming back.

We enjoyed our meal at Himalayan Kitchen. I don't recall having had a Nepali meal before. If so, it was long in the past and I've forgotten it. It was a treat to try chicken momos and a dish of lamb noodles, two dishes my dining partner and I shared, with a basket of delicious naan. Our friends who had butter chicken and lamb korma said both were wonderful, too. This restaurant is conveniently located if you're visiting Salt Lake and staying at a hotel in the center of the city. If you arrive by car, you may find parking a challenge at some times of day, though we had no problems finding a parking space between 5-6 P.M. last evening.
